TIN-NSDL has released new file validation utilities for
TDS returns which shall be applicable from 04th Jan 2014.Returns not
validated through new utility post 04th Jan shall be rejected by
NSDL.
Changes made in new version are to
stop the misuse of the few of the facility provided in filing of TDS return .
First facility that has been withdrawn is that
now you can delete any deductee entry from return filed earlier. This is stop
the misuse of claiming wrong tds credit refunds and then deleting the entries
from tds return and claim that amount again in another persons return.
Second facility withdrawn is date of deduction
can not be earlier than start date of a given quarter for which return is to be
filed . This has been done to stop the misuse of this facility to avoid late
filing fees penalty
Third major Change is a long awaited change ,
27A form will be generated on validation of the tds return through FVU. Earlier
assessee have to depend on private software to generate 27A or have to prepare
it manually .
